A scanner without a duplex feeder makes you scan a stack twice: once for the fronts, then flip the whole pile and scan the backs. You end up with two PDFs, one holding pages 1, 3, 5 and the other holding 2, 4, 6 — and, because you flipped the pile as a block, the second file is usually in reverse order. This tool weaves them back together: front 1, back 1, front 2, back 2, and so on.
The reverse-order case is the one that catches people, so it is a switch rather than an assumption. If your backs came out last-sheet-first, turn it on and they are matched to the right fronts. The tool also compares the page counts and warns you when they differ, because two files of unequal length almost always means one of them is not the scan you thought it was.

Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
- It says the page counts differ.
- That is a warning, not a refusal — but check before you continue. Unequal counts usually mean a sheet double-fed, a page was missed, or one of the two files is not the pass you meant to use.
- How do I know whether to use the reverse switch?
- Think about how you flipped the stack. Turning the whole pile over as a block puts the last sheet on top, so the backs come out in reverse — that is the normal case and the switch is what fixes it. If you re-stacked the sheets in order before the second pass, leave it off.
- My backs are also upside down.
- That is a rotation, not an ordering problem, and it happens when the stack is flipped over the short edge. Interleave first, then use Rearrange pages to turn the affected pages, or Rotate all if every one of them is wrong.
- Can I interleave more than two files?
- No, it takes exactly two, because the operation is defined as alternating between a front pass and a back pass. For anything more complicated, use Organize and place the pages yourself.
