A document with a proper outline already knows where its sections begin — that is what a bookmark is. This tool uses that knowledge instead of asking you to count pages: it reads the outline, shows you each entry with the page range it covers, and lets you tick the ones you want as separate files.
It only works on a document that actually has bookmarks. If the outline was never written, there is nothing to split on and the tool says so rather than guessing at section boundaries; use Split every N pages if the sections are a fixed length, or build the outline first with Edit bookmarks and come back.

Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
- It says the PDF has no bookmarks.
- Then the outline was never written into the file — a printed table of contents on page 2 is not the same thing. Use Split every N pages if the sections are a fixed length, or create the outline with Edit bookmarks and split afterwards.
- Do I have to export every section?
- No. Tick only what you want. A 400-page manual where you need three chapters gives you three files, not four hundred pages of files you throw away.
- How are the page ranges worked out?
- Each entry runs from its own target page up to the page before the next entry at the same level or above. That is why a well-formed outline splits cleanly and a hand-edited one with entries pointing at odd places may not.
- What if an entry points at a web address?
- There is no page range to cut, so it cannot become a file. Only entries that target a page in the document can be exported.
