A PDF describes where marks sit on a page; it has no concept of a paragraph, a heading or a table. Converting to Word therefore means reconstructing that structure from geometry: grouping characters into lines, lines into paragraphs, and detecting the aligned columns that indicate a table. This tool does that reconstruction in the browser and writes a real .docx.

Expect a clean, editable document rather than a pixel-perfect clone. Text-based PDFs convert well. A scan is just a picture of text, so run OCR first — otherwise the output is an image dropped into Word.

How it works

  2. Let the page structure be analysed — paragraphs, headings and table candidates are detected.
  3. Review the preview of what was recognised.
  4. Download the .docx and edit it in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
Will the layout look exactly like the PDF?
No, and no converter can honestly promise that. Word reflows text according to its own layout engine, so expect the content and basic structure to survive while exact line breaks and spacing shift. Complex multi-column magazine layouts fare worst.
My converted file has no text, only an image.
The source is a scan. Run it through the OCR tool first to add a real text layer, then convert.
Are tables preserved?
Tables with consistent column alignment are detected and rebuilt as Word tables. Tables held together only by whitespace, or with merged and nested cells, may come out as plain paragraphs.
