"Is this the version we signed?" is a question about pixels, not words. Two files can hold identical text and differ in a logo, a stamp, a table rule or a signature block — and a text comparison will call them the same. This tool renders both documents and compares them page by page, highlighting what has actually moved on the page and telling you how many pixels differ.
You can look at it two ways: the diff view, which paints the differences on top of each other, and side by side, which is what you want when you need to see the original context of a change. The result can be downloaded as a diff PDF to send to somebody else. When one document has more pages than the other, the extra ones are marked missing rather than silently ignored.

Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
- It reports differing pixels but I cannot see any change.
- Rendering is not perfectly deterministic across producers: a document re-saved by different software can shift text by a fraction of a point, which is a real pixel difference and an invisible content difference. A small count spread thinly over a page usually means a re-save; a dense block means something actually changed.
- Should I use this or Compare text?
- This one for anything visual — layout, images, stamps, signatures, tables. Compare text for wording, where you want to know which sentences were added or removed rather than that a paragraph moved down by a line.
- The documents have different numbers of pages.
- Pages present in only one file are marked missing, so an inserted or deleted page shows up as exactly that instead of throwing every later page out of alignment in the report.
- Does it work on scans?
- Yes, and this is where it beats a text comparison — a scan has no text to compare, but it certainly has pixels. Expect noise: two scans of the same sheet are never pixel-identical.
