Plain text has no formatting to interpret, and this tool deliberately does not invent any. What you paste is what gets typeset: a blank line starts a new paragraph, a single newline is a line break, and nothing else is treated as a symbol. A line beginning with an asterisk stays a line beginning with an asterisk rather than quietly becoming a bullet.
There is a monospace mode for the cases where that matters. Logs, code, configuration files and ASCII tables depend on every character occupying the same width; set the toggle and the alignment survives into the PDF instead of collapsing into proportional text. If you actually want Markdown interpreted — headings, lists, emphasis — use the Markdown to PDF tool, which is the same idea with the rules turned on.
How it works
- Paste your text, or load a .txt file.
- Turn on monospace if whitespace and alignment matter.
- Check the preview.
- Download the PDF.
What people use it for
- Turning a log excerpt into an attachable file for a support ticket.
- Making a readable PDF out of notes, a transcript or an exported chat.
- Producing a printable copy of a code listing with its indentation intact.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
- Why is my Markdown not being formatted?
- Because this tool renders text literally, on purpose — that is the difference between it and Markdown to PDF. If you want # to become a heading and - to become a bullet, use that tool instead.
- My code lost its indentation. What went wrong?
- Monospace mode is off. In proportional text a run of spaces is narrower than the characters above it, so columns drift. Turn the toggle on and the alignment is preserved.
- Do accented and non-Latin characters work?
- Yes. Accents, Cyrillic and Greek are handled by the fonts this site embeds, and the right family is chosen for the text you paste, so nothing arrives as a row of boxes.
- What happens to very long lines?
- They wrap at the page margin rather than being cut off. In monospace mode that means a wrapped log line continues on the next line — nothing is lost, but a very wide log is easier to read in landscape.
