3D flipbook

Open any PDF as a realistic 3D flipbook — WebGL, CSS 3D or a lightweight swipe fallback.

A PDF in a browser is a scroll. A catalogue, a magazine or a programme was designed as a thing you turn, and this tool restores that: pages are rendered at high resolution and presented as a book you leaf through. Three engines are available and you can switch between them without re-rendering — WebGL for a genuine 3D page curl, CSS 3D for a lighter version that needs no GPU, and a flat 2D mode that works anywhere including old phones.

The part worth knowing is the export. You can download the flipbook as a self-contained thing — a folder as a ZIP, or a single HTML file — carrying the viewer, the engine and your pages together. It opens by double-clicking, works offline, and makes no external calls, so a catalogue can be put on a USB stick or a static host with nothing else needed.

How it works

  1. Drop in a PDF, or open one from a link.
  2. Wait while the pages are rendered at high resolution.
  3. Switch engine if the 3D view struggles — the pages are not re-rendered.
  4. Read it, or export the whole flipbook as a ZIP folder or a single HTML file.

What people use it for

  • Publishing a catalogue or a magazine on a website as something people actually leaf through.
  • Handing a client a self-contained interactive version of a brochure that works offline.
  • Presenting a programme or a lookbook on a tablet without a PDF reader in the way.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
What is actually in the export?
The viewer, the engine and your rendered pages — a complete flipbook. There is no PDF inside it, nothing is uploaded, and it makes no external calls, so it runs from a folder, a USB stick or any static host.
Which engine should I use?
WebGL for the real page-curl effect on a machine with a GPU. CSS 3D when WebGL will not start or the device is modest. Flat 2D as the always-works option. Switching is instant because the pages are already rendered.
It says it could not start the flipbook engine.
Usually WebGL is unavailable — a virtual machine, a locked-down browser or an old GPU. Switch to CSS 3D or Flat 2D; the content is identical, only the page-turn animation differs.
Why is it slow on a long document?
Every page is rendered at high resolution so the text stays crisp when you zoom, and that is real work for the browser. A 200-page catalogue takes a while up front and is then smooth to read.
