Cortar páginas
Corta cada página por la mitad o en una cuadrícula — convierte escaneos de libros abiertos y hojas A3 de dos en una en páginas sueltas.
Some pages hold two. A book photographed open shows the left and right pages on one image; an A3 sheet printed two-up holds two A4s; a handout scanned four to a page holds four slides. This tool cuts each page into pieces — in half side by side, in half top and bottom, or on a grid you define — so every piece becomes its own page in reading order, with a right-to-left option for languages that need it.
One thing is worth knowing, because it surprises people looking at the file size afterwards: the part outside a piece is hidden, not thrown away. Each new page shows its own region of the original, and the rest is still in the file behind the crop. The document will not get smaller, and if what you need is genuinely to destroy the hidden area, that is a different operation.
How it works
- Drop in a PDF.
- Choose the cut: in half side by side, in half top and bottom, or a grid.
- Adjust where the cut falls, and set right-to-left order if that is your reading direction.
- Save the cut PDF.
What people use it for
- Turning photographed book spreads into single pages that read one after another.
- Splitting an A3 two-up print job back into A4 pages.
- Separating a four-slides-per-sheet handout into one slide per page.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
- Why has the file not got smaller?
- Because cutting hides the surrounding area rather than deleting it. Every piece still carries the whole original page behind its crop. That keeps the operation lossless and reversible, at the cost of size.
- The cut is slightly off centre.
- Move the cut position. A photographed spread is rarely perfectly symmetrical — the gutter drifts as the book is held — so the midpoint of the image is often not the midpoint of the pages.
- What does right-to-left order do?
- It reverses which piece comes first. For Arabic, Hebrew or traditional Japanese layouts, the right-hand half of a spread is the earlier page, and this puts the pieces in the order a reader would actually go through them.
- Can I really remove the hidden parts?
- Not with this tool. The crop is a visible-area setting, so the data stays. Treat it as a layout operation, not a redaction — if content must be genuinely gone, that is what the Redact tool is for.
