Sometimes a finished PDF needs one more line: a reference number in the corner, a date on a form, a name where a template left a gap. Reopening the source document, editing and re-exporting is often impossible — you may not have the source at all. This tool places text boxes directly onto the page: drag one where it should sit, or set its X and Y in points when the position has to be exact.

It adds text, it does not edit the text that is already there. Nothing in the existing page is replaced or moved, and what you type sits on top as a new object. If you need to correct a word that is already printed, that is a different job: cover it and retype, or go back to whatever produced the document.

How it works

  1. Drop in a PDF.
  2. Add a text box and type what it should say.
  3. Drag it into place, or set the exact X and Y in points, and choose the font and weight.
  4. Add more boxes if you need them, then download.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
Can I change text that is already in the PDF?
No. This adds new text on top; it does not edit existing content. PDFs store text as positioned glyphs rather than editable paragraphs, which is why no tool edits them the way a word processor would. Fix it in the source document if you have it.
The document has form fields. Should I use this?
No — use Fill forms, which writes into the fields themselves. That keeps the form's structure intact and is what a recipient's software will expect. This tool is for documents with no fields at all.
What are X and Y measured in?
Points, the PDF's own unit: 72 to the inch, so an A4 page is 595 by 842. Dragging is easier for most work; the numbers are there for when something must line up exactly with a printed box.
Is the added text selectable?
Yes. It is real text, so it can be selected, copied and found by search — not a picture of text.
