A document scanned in landscape when it should be portrait opens sideways in every reader, on every device, forever — until someone writes the rotation into the file. This tool does that for every page at once: pick 90°, 180° or 270° and save.

It is worth being clear about what rotating in a viewer does, because it is the reason this tool exists. Turning a page in Acrobat or Preview changes your view and nothing else; close the file and it is sideways again for the next person. Rotation written here is part of the document, so it travels with it.

How it works

  1. Drop in a PDF.
  2. Choose 90°, 180° or 270°.
  3. Save the rotated PDF.

What people use it for

  • Fixing a whole batch of pages that a scanner fed in the wrong orientation.
  • Turning a landscape presentation upright before combining it with portrait documents.
  • Correcting a PDF that arrives upside down because the originals were fed backwards.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
Only some of my pages are sideways.
Then this is the wrong tool — it turns all of them by the same amount. Use Rearrange pages, where you can rotate individual pages in a thumbnail grid.
Does rotating lose any quality?
None. The rotation is recorded as a property of each page, not applied by redrawing it. The content is untouched, and the file size barely changes.
Will it print the right way round?
Yes. The rotation is part of the document, so readers and printers both honour it.
Which way do the angles turn?
Clockwise. 90° puts the top edge on the right; 270° puts it on the left; 180° turns the page upside down, which is the one you want for a scan fed in backwards.
