Splitting is really two different jobs. Sometimes you want to cut a document into parts at chosen boundaries; sometimes you only want a handful of pages out of a long file and don't care about the rest. This tool covers both, and returns multiple outputs as a single zip so you're not clicking through twenty download prompts.
Pages are copied, not re-encoded: text stays selectable, images keep their original resolution and nothing is rasterised in the process.
How it works
- Open the PDF you want to cut.
- Choose split points, or type the page ranges you want to extract (for example 1-3, 8, 12-20).
- Check the preview so you're cutting where you think you are.
- Download the parts — several files arrive as one zip.
What people use it for
- Pulling the three relevant pages out of a 90-page tender document to send to a colleague.
- Breaking a scanned book into chapters before archiving.
- Separating a bank statement into monthly files.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded to a server?
- No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
- What page-range syntax is accepted?
- Comma-separated single pages and hyphenated ranges, for example 1-3, 8, 12-20. Numbering is 1-based and follows the pages as displayed, not any printed page numbers inside the document.
- I need to split at a fixed interval, not at chosen points.
- Use Split every N pages — it cuts every N pages automatically, which is what you want for repeating forms or duplex scans.
- Can I split so each part stays under an email size limit?
- Yes, but with a different tool: Split by size takes a maximum size and produces as many parts as needed to stay under it.
