Instead of asking you where to cut, this tool looks at each page and finds where the content actually stops. It scans for the ink, works out the box that encloses it, and trims the empty margin away — which is what you want on a scan whose margins vary from page to page, or a document generated with wasteful whitespace.

Two settings decide the outcome. The white threshold is how light a pixel has to be before it counts as background: raise it on a yellowed or greyish scan so the paper is treated as empty rather than as content. And "keep all pages the same size" finds one box that fits every page's content instead of trimming each one individually — worth turning on for anything that will be printed or bound, where pages of slightly different sizes look like a mistake.

How it works

  1. Drop in a PDF and let the pages be analysed.
  2. Adjust the white threshold if the paper is not clean white.
  3. Choose some padding so the text does not sit right on the edge.
  4. Decide whether every page should end up the same size, then save.

Frequently asked questions

Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The file is opened by JavaScript and WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab. It is never uploaded, there is no server-side processing and nothing is stored — closing the tab discards everything.
It trimmed too much, or too little.
Adjust the white threshold. Too little trimming on a yellowed scan means the paper is being read as content — raise it. Too much means faint content is being read as paper — lower it. Padding then gives whatever survives some breathing room.
Should I keep all pages the same size?
Yes for anything printed or bound, where varying page sizes look like an error. No when you want each page as tight as possible and it will only be read on screen.
Does this remove the trimmed margins from the file?
No. Like any crop, it sets a visible area and the hidden material stays in the document. It is a layout operation, not a redaction — for removing content use Redact.
Nothing was trimmed on some pages.
Their content already reaches the edge of the box, or something is sitting in the margin — a page number, a scanner speck, a faint line. That mark defines the content box, so the margin around it cannot be cut.
